Nebraska’s Safest Companies Award
Recognizing Nebraska’s Commitment to Workplace Safety
The Nebraska’s Safest Companies Award recognize organizations that make safety a priority and are committed to protecting their employees. Hosted by the National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter (NSCN), this long-standing awards program celebrates outstanding workplace safety performance across a variety of industries and company sizes.
Organizations can also apply for the Workplace Driving Safety Award. Created in partnership with AAA Nebraska, this award recognizes employers that are committed to protecting employees behind the wheel through strong driving safety programs, policies, and practices. Transportation incidents remain the leading cause of workplace fatalities. This award highlights organizations working to reduce that risk and create safer roads for employees and communities.
Applications for the 2026 awards have closed. Applications for the 2027 awards will open in January 2027.
How to Apply
Applications open in the beginning of January and close February 28 each year.
All applications are completed online and can be saved, allowing you to finish them later if needed.
All application materials are kept confidential.
Nebraska’s Safest Companies Eligibility
To apply, your organization must:
- Be a current NSCN member
- Have a written safety or injury and illness prevention program
- Submit the required OSHA 300A summaries or equivalent documentation
- Complete all application questions by the application deadline
Please have the following ready before you begin:
- OSHA 300A summaries (or equivalent) for the previous three years
- Safety policy statement
- Written injury and illness prevention program
- Company logo (vector or EPS preferred)
Allow approximately 30 minutes to one hour to complete the application. You can save your progress and return later.
Returning applicants should submit:
- Your organization’s username or the email used for last year’s application
- OSHA 300A summary (or equivalent) for the previous year
- Updated company logo, if applicable
Allow approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete the application. You can save your progress and return later.

Organizations applying for the Workplace Driving Safety Award will need information about:
- Company driving safety policies and programs
- Number of company-owned and personal vehicles used for business
- Reportable work-related vehicle crashes and motor vehicle fatalities
Crash reporting guidelines are included within the online application.
