- In Nebraska, 225 people died and 15,871 were injured in traffic crashes.
- In Nebraska, 1 collision occurs every 16 minutes.
- 43 people were injured each day in motor vehicle crashes and 1 person was killed every 39 hours.
- Of the 225 traffic fatalities, 189 (84%) were occupants of passenger vehicles.
- Of the 189 traffic fatalities, 78 (41%) were rollovers.
- Of the 189 traffic fatalities, only 58 (31%) were wearing safety belts; 131 (69%) were not wearing safety belts.
- Of the 131 (69%) not wearing safety belts, 78 (60%) were thrown from the vehicle.
- Motor vehicle crashes cost Nebraska over $796,989,000 in 2014 utilizing the 2013 National Safety Council calculable costs of motor vehicle crashes.
- Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among those ages 5-34.

- Safety belts - when used - reduce the risk of fatal injury to front-seat passenger car occupants by 45% and light truck occupants by 60%.
