Course Description:
Safe With You is a Nebraska Department of Education Early Childhood Training Center and Department of Health and Human Services program that meets the requirements of the Nebraska State Legislature statue 43-2606. This bill requires licensed childcare providers to complete training that "shall be designed to meet the health, safety and developmental needs of children...and shall include information on sudden infant death syndrome, shaken baby syndrome and child abuse and neglect."
Course Includes:
- Safe Sleep for Infants: Learn to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and prevent accidental suffocation. Discusses the importance of a safe sleep policy.
- Never Shake a Baby—Preventing Abusive Head Trauma: Learn the devastating effect of shaken baby syndrome, including brain damage, life changing disabilities, or death. Create a personal plan to prevent shaken baby syndrome.
- Power to Protect—Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect: Learn about child abuse and neglect, how to make a report, ways to strengthen families, and how to prevent child abuse.
Participants receive a certification valid for 5 years.
First Aid, CPR, Child Care Classes, and Emergency Care Series:
Registration policy: Advanced registration is required. For a full refund or to avoid a rescheduling fee, notice of changes must be given at least 5 business days before the class. A $25 cancellation/rescheduling fee will be issued to changes made within 5 business days prior to class. There are no refunds on no-shows. We reserve the right to cancel a class in advance. In this case, NSCN will provide rescheduling at no fee.
