This past May, the National Safety Council named Lorraine Martin as the new President and CEO. Lorraine brings a wealth of strategic, operational and culture building expertise from her 30-year career at Lockheed Martin as well as a strong civic record on community security, innovation and education. At Lockheed Martin, Lorraine led a team of 34,000 global employees and directed a portfolio of 1,000 high-technology programs and products. Lorraine has a deep understanding and appreciation for worker safety having worked in the high-consequence aerospace industry, and is looking forward to extending that commitment to road, home and community safety.
In a note to NSC members, Ms. Martin says, "I look forward to hearing and learning from our members, to make sure that we continue to bring maximum value to dedicated safety professionals who are out there every day, doing the hard work and making the right choices in keeping people safe. My goal is to create a place for growth where success depends on a passion for people, and ensure that we bring together diverse voices and expertise to create better solutions for the safety challenges ahead."
We're excited to announce that Lorraine will be visiting Omaha and the National Safety Council, Nebraska on August 27, 2019. If you would like to meet Lorraine and help us give her a warm welcome to our city and the Council, please contact Susan Booth for details.
