Eric Koeppe

President/CEO

Eric is the President/CEO of the National Safety Council, Nebraska. He has a background in city administration, small business management, non-profit management and corporate accounting. He earned his Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Wyoming. He served as EVP/CFO from 2015-2017 and has been the President/CEO since April of 2017. When not at NSCN you will find Eric enjoying watching his favorite baseball teams.

Nicole Fowler

Executive Assistant/Project Coordinator

Nikki is the Executive Assistant to the President/CEO at the National Safety Council, Nebraska. She has 10 years of administrative experience, including scheduling and correspondence, data management, and project coordination. Nikki’s ability to research and commitment to excellent customer service has given her may opportunities to participate in a number of projects supporting various staff including Directors and C-level executives throughout her career. Although not a Nebraska native, she has spent most of her life in Omaha and enjoys working for a non-profit such as NSCN with its mission of providing education & advocacy to protect those in the same communities she grew up in.

Stephanie is the Accounting Administrator for the National Safety Council, Nebraska. She has worked in office administration for her entire career. She says her family and friends are her great loves and as they have scattered across the country, she enjoys traveling to visit them. Especially those by the beach!

Susan Booth

Vice President, Business Development

A 30+ year veteran of working with start-up technology companies, Susan has spent her career focused on communication, marketing innovations and taking care of her customers. She was has born and raised in Nebraska, the 7th of 8th children, her father a safety director. Susan embodies the motto - "Work hard, Play harder". Having lost family members to auto crashes, she is passionate about distracted driving and seat belt safety. She loves to travel and spend time with her husband of nearly 30 yrs and 3 daughters. Favorite places to visit include Australia, Italy and anywhere with a beach and sunshine.

Nicole Sasse

Marketing Manager

As the newest member of the Council's team, Nicole has quickly grown into her role as Marketing Manager. She enjoys taking on the everyday challenge of developing new ways to spread the word about the Council’s mission- reducing injuries and saving lives of Nebraskans. A true Nebraska native, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Finance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she also played 4 years of Division 1 softball. After a short stint in Event Management, Nicole is excited to be back in the Marketing game! Any free time in her usually hectic schedule, is spent working on DIY home projects with her husband, snuggling up to her fur-babies (a 100 lb. Chocolate Lab & kitty), or taking time to travel and be active in new and exciting places!

Breeana Allis

Account Manager

Breeana Allis is an Account Manager here at the National Safety Council, Nebraska. She works closely with different organizations in and around the metro area to make sure their safety needs are met. She has an extensive background in Customer Service. Before taking on her position at the Council, she worked at Conagra Foods in their Consumer Affairs Department. She attended Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa and then finished out the remainder of her college years at the College of St. Mary in Omaha. When she is not out meeting with all of you, she enjoys spending time with her family. Bree loves to entertain her family and friends. Her motto is “The more the merrier”. Most weekends you will find her planning a football party or a bonfire get together for a house full of people. Bree was born and raised in Omaha and currently resides in Papillion. She is the mother of two teenagers and 3 furry kids who keep her busy outside the office.

Account Manager

Adam is an Account Manager for the National Safety Council, Nebraska. He got his Bachelor's of Science in Business Management from Bellevue University. As an Account Manager, Adam has the opportunities to work first hand with our member companies, taking tours of their facilities and being on the forefront of spreading our mission. When asked why he enjoys working at the Council, he said, "The thing I like most about working at the Council is our mission– to prevent Nebraskans from being injured." In his spare time he likes to golf, coach his kids' sports teams, and cook.

Kaitlin Ortmeier

Customer Service Coordinator

A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Kaitlin is the Council’s Customer Relations Coordinator. She works with current and prospective clients, is an assistant to the sales and marketing team, event organizer, and membership coordinator. Early on, Kaitlin knew she wanted to have a career that served others and found that NSCN’s mission aligned with her personal ambitions. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and enjoys working with others. Outside of work, you can find Kaitlin in her garden, spending time with family and friends, writing, or working on her latest sewing project.

Heather Watts

Director, Workplace Safety Services

Heather is the Director of Workplace Safety Services for the National Safety Council, Nebraska. As one of the longest tenured staff members at NSCN, Heather has wide-ranging knowledge across all divisions. She began in 2000 as a registration associate in driving, moving over to workplace safety 6 months later where she worked with members, classes and registration. She has worn many hats over the years: marketing coordinator, workplace programs manager, assistant director of WSS, OTIEC/MOEC manager. She has overseen instructors in driving, workplace safety and first aid/CPR. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and three children.

Stash Dwornicki

Stash Dwornicki

Consultant, WSS Training

Stash is a Safety Consultant/Trainer specializing in General Industry and Workplace Violence. An Omaha native with a farming background, Stash attended college at Loyola University, Chicago followed by 4 years serving in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer, deploying twice to Afghanistan. After leaving the military, his work experience includes time spent in the oil industry in northeast Wyoming, physical security, telecommunications, and manufacturing. He conducts all manner of general-industry safety training as well as audits and inspections, and enjoys the variety of industries and members he helps achieve safer workplaces. When not working, he enjoys the outdoors and helping on his family’s farm.

Terry Anderson

Terry Anderson

Consultant, WSS Training

Terry first practiced in his field of study- Engineering, for 6 years before making a leap into safety. His safety experiences are with local manufacturing, warehousing, natural gas distribution, and Keystone pipeline (TransCanada) throughout the US. Roles held have included first line safety responsibilities, safety manager, and senior safety process developer/owner. Terry has been a Certified Safety Professional since 1998. In his most recent 3 years with TransCanada, Terry had stepped away from direct responsibilities for employee/workplace safety so he could fulfill the role of Emergency Response coordinator for all of their oil pipelines in the US and Canada; servicing up over 30 field and table top exercises annually for employees and outside regulators. Since starting with the Council, Terry is enjoying his chance to stay closer to home and to refocus on employee/workplace safety.

Lori Rothman

Program Assistant

Lori is the Workplace Safety Services department assistant at the National Safety Council, Nebraska. She helps to process OSHA 10/30 hour card requests, complete registrations for Outreach Training Institute courses, maintain department records, prepare class materials for OSH courses, and assist the Director of Workplace Safety Services and OSH consultants as needed. When not working, Lori enjoys gardening, quilting, reading and spending time traveling. She loves camping and hiking with her husband of 30 years in their Airstream Flying Cloud with their border collie. Their son is a recent UNL graduate working for NU—Go Nebraska!

Janae Halm

First Aid/CPR Coordinator

Janae is the First Aid/CPR Coordinator for the National Safety Council, Nebraska. She has a Master’s in Public Health and has a passion for everyone to be safe and healthy. Her favorite part of the job is getting to work with all of the talented First Aid/CPR instructors. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 active little girls.

Joe Chavis

Director, Driving and Behavior Programs

Joe is the Director of Driving and Behavior Programs at the National Safety Council, Nebraska. He has a Bachelor's degree in Human and Social Services Administration. He also has a Master’s degree in Human Relations. Joe retired after 20 years from the Air Force in 2006. He is also a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and has served in positions as Director of both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. Joe has a passion for educating our community about making healthy lifestyle choices. Joe is married, has grown children, grandchildren, a puppy, and is a sports fan.

Russ Zeeb

Russ Zeeb

Manager of Driving Programs

Russ was a US Army veteran with 17 months of overseas service during the Viet Nam era serving as a Combat Medic. Russ came home and started his career in Law Enforcement in 1974 for the Sarpy County Sheriff Department, spending 39 years there and retiring as a Lieutenant, assigned as a Patrol commander. Russ was inducted into the Nebraska Sheriff Hall of Fame upon retirement and was also a recipient of the National Safety Council Public Servant award in 2007. He received numerous awards during his career including two Life Saving Awards. Russ is now active in the community and serves on several nonprofit boards, volunteers and coordinates events, mostly honoring veterans and First Responders. He also assists in coordinating the “Mock Crash” programs, educating high school students on the dangers of drinking and driving, underage drinking, distracted driving and the importance of seat belt usage.

Shaley Kaufman

Driving and Behavior Programs Supervisor

Shaley started with the National Safety Council, Nebraska as a registration associate and has now served Nebraskans for over 17 years. She is currently the supervisor of our driving and behavior department. During her employment, she has attended and completed various courses and seminars to strengthen her leadership role. Her favorite part about working for the council is being a part of the established working relationship with the court system and various law enforcement agencies. She has a passion for the council’s mission (reducing injuries and saving lives) and helping our community to become a safer place. Her goal is to promote positive outcomes through the programs NSCN offers. In her free time, she enjoys working out and spending time with her husband and two children.

Driver Education and Motorcycle Programs Coordinator

As the Driver Education and Motorcycle Programs Coordinator for the National Safety Council, Nebraska, Deb plays a vital role in program organization. Between handling registrations, scheduling courses and instructors, and keeping records, she is always busy, busy, busy. When asked why she enjoys working for the Council, she said, "I enjoy working for NSCN because I feel like I get to contribute to helping keep people safe on the road."

Jeana Tortorilla

Health Educator

Jeana is the Health Educator for the National Safety Council, Nebraska and specializes in Safety on the Roads. She works closely with the community in order to educate all ages about the dangers of unsafe driving practices, such as not wearing a seat belt, driving distracted, and drowsy driving. She has been an educator for over 20 years and enjoys the diversity of audiences this program allows her to work with. She lives in Omaha with her husband, 3 boys and an ever increasing amount of “failed foster” dogs.

As a Registration Associate, she takes pride in providing our customers with excellent and precise service. Jean says she enjoys being a part of the Council's mission of keeping Nebraskans safe.

Registration Associate

Karla has become a valuable asset to the National Safety Council, Nebraska since joining the team 8 years ago. With over 25 years of experience in the correctional field she brings a certain “je ne sais quoi” to her position as a Driving and Behavior Programs Associate. Karla takes great pride in listening to her customers' concerns and providing the proper tools and resources they need to stay safe on the road, at home and in the workplace. Away from the Council she enjoys golf, PiYo, baking (Karla makes the most delicious treats!) and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs. Stop in and visit Karla to schedule your next safety class - unless you’re a clown. Karla does not like clowns.
