The National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter Expands Commitment to Safety Mission Through Strategic Realignment with the Nebraska Safety Council

Omaha, NE – September 26, 2024 – The National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter (NSCN), a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing injuries and saving lives through safety education, training and advocacy, is pleased to announce the strategic alignment with the Nebraska Safety Council (NeSC), a fellow nonprofit with the same mission. The realignment comes as the Nebraska Safety Council prepares to close its doors. By acquiring their programs, members, and team, NSCN ensures continued support for members and retains employees to maintain service without disruption.

After years of dedicated service, NeSC has made the difficult decision to cease operations. Recognizing the importance of sustaining safety education efforts, NSCN has stepped in to ensure these vital programs continue to benefit communities. This transition allows NSCN to expand its reach and maintain the high standards of safety training provided by both organizations.

“We are committed to honoring the legacy of the Nebraska Safety Council,” said Eric Koeppe, NSCN President and CEO. “By combining our efforts, we will continue to provide high-quality safety training and expand our mission and impact, ensuring that these life-saving programs remain accessible. We’re excited to welcome their committed group of employees to our team helping to make the transition for Nebraska Safety Council’s members seamless with no disruption in services.”

For 100 years, the National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter has served Nebraskans and has been a trusted provider of safety education and advocacy programs. As part of this transition, NSCN will expand the offerings available at the Lincoln office for workplace and driving programs and services.

“While this is a bittersweet moment for us, we are confident that the National Safety Council – Nebraska Chapter will continue the important work we began,” said Don Wademan, Board President, Nebraska Safety Council. “We know their commitment to safety education will carry on our legacy and ensure our member community continues to receive the support it needs.”
