For students ages 14 - 17 and living in Nebraska. Earn a Nebraska Provisional Operators Permit (POP) commonly called your drivers license for those under age 18, by taking our State of Nebraska Approved course!
There is no DMV road test when students under age 18 complete our course (although DMV always reserves the right to test anyone at anytime). Over 99% of our graduates are not asked to test again! Those students age 18 or who will turn 18 during the driver education session will have to go to the DMV and will be required to take the drive test to obtain their unrestricted Operator's License. All students who successfully complete and pass our written and drive tests will receive a certificate of completion.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Effective January 1, 2013 any student completing and passing the Council's driver education program written and drive tests on/after January 1, 2013 will be able to apply for their POP online. Those students that completed/passed our approved driver education program in 2012, have received the DMV waiver of testing that will be required by the DMV to apply for your POP, these students will have to actually go to the DMV to get their POP.
Experience 20 hours of interactive classroom instruction and up to 5 hours of behind the wheel instruction as you learn to drive in our late model cars!
Note To Parents: Experiencing as much supervised practice before, during and after class will help your teen driver gain knowledge and confidence. Talk with your teen's behind the wheel driving instructor after every drive session for practice pointers! It's no different than leaning an instrument or a sport, each student needs lots of practice.
