Driver Education Instructors Needed

Join our more than 20 staff who are teaching driver education in our diverse community. Our Driver Education Car team delivers Driver Education to students throughout the Omaha metro area. We are Nebraska’s largest provider of teen driver education and use AAA’s curriculum in our classrooms.

The National Safety Council, Nebraska is currently seeking applications for certified instruction-based Driver Education instructor positions. We are currently looking to build our talent pool for instructors as student needs arise.

The Driver Education Program Instructor will conduct classroom and/or on-the-road instruction consistent with the Nebraska (DMV) requirements and standards, in order to prepare new student drivers for successful licensure. Duties include recordkeeping for tracking all aspects of each student's driver education training and related communications and reporting to students, parents, school management personnel, and the DMV.

Instructors perform professional services requiring excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, computer data entry, recordkeeping, and working directly with staff, students, parents, the general public, and other school personnel. The instructor creates an environment that is conducive to serving students while meeting the requirements of federal, state, and local mandates. The instructor observes individual's driving habits and reactions under various driving conditions to ensure conformance with vehicle operational standards and state vehicle code.

The Driver Education Instructor is responsible for maintaining impeccable safety standards and exercising good judgment and initative in helping students complete their training.
