Good Reasons for Giving!
The Council’s many safety programs are designed to keep you and your family safe at home, safe at work, safe at play and safe on the roads.
Safety programs benefit from the Council serve our community such as F1RST, fall prevention for older adults, Tumbling Tim, fall prevention for children, Street Smarts, parent education of teen drivers, Seeking Safety Champions – encouraging others to provide safety programs, Family Safety Day, Getting to School Safely, Child Passenger Safety, and Cyclefest – bicycle safety, and strengthening Greater Omaha’s ‘World Health Organization Safe Community’. Injuries are the 5th greatest cause of fatality for all ages.
We continue to re-invent our messages to convince people of the importance of safety.
With good safety mechanisms in place, accidents won’t happen.
Accidents are unplanned events; they don’t just happen … something precipitates an accident whether it is a failure of people, equipment, materials or the environment to react as expected. All accidents have consequences or outcomes.
How do we support our work?
Our work for businesses is funded through training fees. Sponsorships help to support the Safety and Health Summit and the generosity of businesses and the community support our community safety programs.

Events such as Golfing for Safety and Soiree (supporting F1RST) are important fund raising events. We are also grateful for the support from the community of grants and contributions that support other special safety programs and events.
